Advocacy Meeting on Waste Management Improvement in Bagerhat City

Under the Gold Initiative, Climate and Youth Development Organization (CYDO) organized a key advocacy meeting aimed at improving waste management and protecting the environment in Bagerhat City. The meeting was attended by representatives from Bagerhat Municipality, local journalists, and various youth organizations.

Current Challenges in Waste Management of Bagerhat City

Speakers at the meeting highlighted that budget constraints, lack of modern waste management equipment, and low public awareness are hindering Bagerhat City’s sanitation system. They noted that these issues are contributing to increased environmental pollution and public health risks.

Future Plans of the Bagerhat Paurosava

At the meeting, the Bagerhat Municipality authorities presented several plans to improve the city’s waste management. Notable among them are:

  • Implementing a modern and efficient waste collection system
  • Separately collecting recyclable and non-recyclable waste
  • Providing new vans and safety gear for sanitation workers
  • Strengthening programs to raise public awareness on cleanliness and environmental protection

Clean Bagerhat Through Collective Effort

Participants at the meeting agreed that a clean, healthy, and sustainable Bagerhat City can be achieved through the combined efforts of the municipality, youth organizations, media, and local communities.

We believes that engaging youth can ensure environmentally friendly urban management, and it will continue initiatives on waste management and climate resilience in the future.
